Steps to Obtain and Register a PE License

The PE licensing process consists of four stages, from confirming eligibility to registering in a US state.

PE Licensing Process

Follow these four stages: (1) confirm your eligibility, (2) take the FE exam, which is the first-stage examination, (3) take the PE exam, which is the second-stage examination, and (4) register your PE license. Passing the PE exam alone does not allow you to use the title “PE.” You may use it only after registering in one of the states in the United States.
