How English Classes Are Assigned

For the 2025 academic year, English class placement at the Saitama Hatoyama Campus is based on testing at two stages.

Tests Used for English Class Placement

The Faculty of Science and Technology uses ability-based English classes. Your class is determined by a placement test taken by all new students immediately after enrollment. For students taking English, placement is also determined by an English proficiency test (standardized test) held at the end of the second semester of the first year.
