How Substituted Credits Count Toward the 30-Credit Requirement

For the 2026 academic year at the Tokyo Senju Campus in the Faculty of System Design Engineering, credits from independently established university courses reduce the number of credits required from specialized subject-related courses.

Calculating the Required Specialized Subject-Related Credits

The 30-credit requirement can include credits from courses independently established by the university. When these credits are counted toward the total, the required credits from courses covering specialized matters related to the subject are calculated as follows: 30 credits minus the credits earned in independently established university courses. For example, if you earn 5 credits in independently established university courses, you must earn at least 25 credits in courses covering specialized matters related to the subject.
