Requirements for an Advanced Teaching License

For eligible 2026 graduate students, an advanced teaching license requires the requirements for a first-class teaching license plus specified master's-level study and completion requirements.

Requirements

To obtain an advanced teaching license, you must meet the requirements for a first-class teaching license and, in addition, earn at least 24 credits in specialized teaching-related subjects in a master's program. You must also complete the master's program and obtain a master's degree.
