Credits Required for the High School First-Class Mathematics License

For the 2026 academic year, this requirement is at least 30 credits from the designated subject-specialist courses, with up to 5 credits replaceable by independently established university courses.

Required Credits

To obtain the high school first-class mathematics license, you must earn at least 30 credits from the designated subject-specialist courses, including the shaded courses. Up to 5 of these 30 credits may be replaced by credits from independently established university courses. The required subject-specialist credits are therefore 30 minus the number of replacement credits earned. For example, earning 5 replacement credits reduces the subject-specialist requirement to at least 25 credits.
