Special Provision: 59 Credits for Teaching Licence Eligibility

For the 2026 academic year at the Tokyo Senju Campus, a special provision allows teaching licence eligibility without credits in foundational education subjects if the specified subjects and at least 59 specialized-subject credits are completed.

Credit Requirements Under the Special Provision

Under this special provision, you may obtain a teaching licence without earning any credits in subjects related to foundational understanding of education. You must earn at least 2 credits in each subject specified in Article 66-6 of the Ordinance for Enforcement of the Teaching Licence Act. You must also complete all subjects that include general and comprehensive content, including 2 credits in Vocational Guidance and 2 credits in Introduction to Industrial Technology, and earn at least 59 credits in subjects covering specialized matters related to the teaching subject.
