Are Shaded Courses Required for a Teaching License?
Shaded courses are required for obtaining a teaching license, even when their graduation requirement classification is elective or free-choice.
Requirement for Teaching License
Yes. Shaded courses, including courses containing general and comprehensive content, must be completed to obtain a teaching license. This requirement is separate from the classification of courses as required, elective, or free-choice for progression and graduation. Therefore, a course classified as elective or free-choice for graduation may still be mandatory for teaching-license purposes.
