English Course Credit Requirements

This page explains the required English course credits for specified faculties and programmes at Tokyo Senju Campus in the 2025 and 2026 academic years.

Second Division Faculty of Engineering: 2026 requirement

In the 2026 academic year, students in the Second Division Faculty of Engineering must earn 6 credits in English courses. This requirement applies both to general students and to students in the Practical Knowledge Priority programme.

System Design and Engineering and Electrical and Electronic Engineering: 2026 requirement

In the 2026 academic year, students in the System Design and Engineering Faculty and students in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering in the Faculty of Engineering must earn 8 credits in English courses.

System Design and Engineering Faculty: 2025 requirement

In the 2025 academic year, students in the System Design and Engineering Faculty must earn 8 credits in English courses.

Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering: 2025 requirement

In the 2025 academic year, students in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering must complete at least 8 credits in English courses. The broader communication and presentation ability requirement is at least 12 credits in total: at least 8 English course credits and 4 communication course credits. This corresponds to JABEE criterion (f).
