Taking Graduate Courses Before Admission

For the 2025 academic year, students in the Faculty of Engineering, Division II at Tokyo Senju Campus may take graduate courses before progressing to graduate school, subject to approval and credit limits.

Approval and annual credit limit

Advance registration for a graduate course may not be approved, depending on the number of applicants. The credits that may be taken in graduate courses before progressing to graduate school are limited to 8 credits per academic year.

How these credits count toward registration limits

Credits for graduate courses taken in advance are not included in the course-registration limit, meaning the maximum number of credits that may be registered in one semester.

Recognition after admission to graduate school

A graduate course passed before admission is automatically recognized for credit when the student is admitted to this university's graduate school. The credit is reflected when first-semester grades are notified after admission.
