Choosing Chemistry B

Students with some chemistry foundations may take either Chemistry A (Standard) or Chemistry B. Chemistry B focuses on chemical states, reaction rates, and materials.

Course options for students with chemistry foundations

Students who have already developed some chemistry foundations may take either Chemistry A (Standard) or Chemistry B. Chemistry A (Standard) covers the structure of atoms and molecules and chemical bonding. Chemistry B examines the states of matter from the perspective of chemical thermodynamics, and also provides an overview of reaction rates and chemical materials, including organic polymers, metals, and ceramics.
