When to Study Chemistry and Physical Chemistry Foundations

For the 2025 Science Track curriculum model, study major chemistry subjects in your lower years and build a foundation in physical chemistry before taking advanced chemistry courses.

Subjects to Study in Your Lower Years

In the lower years, you need to study major chemistry subjects such as Organic Chemistry I, Inorganic and Analytical Chemistry, and Chemical Thermodynamics. It is also beneficial to take or study Quantum Mechanics I and Chemical Kinetics, which provide foundations in physical chemistry. These foundations will help when you take higher-year chemistry subjects that build on them.
