Early Graduation: Graduation Research A and B Requirements
The requirements for taking and earning credits for Graduation Research A and B differ by faculty and early-graduation pathway.
System Design and Technology Faculty
For the 2025 academic year at Tokyo Senju Campus, students who wish to graduate early must take Graduation Research A and Graduation Research B in their third year and earn the credits for both, under the early-graduation requirements established by their department. This applies to students who have earned at least 85 credits by the end of their second year and have a GPA of at least 3.4. Credits earned at another university or another faculty, and recognized by this faculty, are excluded from the 85-credit calculation.
Information Media Department, Faculty of Science and Technology
For students eligible for early graduation, earning both Graduation Research A and Graduation Research B is a graduation requirement. This applies to students completing the 3.5-year early-graduation pathway who begin graduation research in the second semester of their third year, and to students completing the 3-year early-graduation pathway who begin graduation research in the first semester of their third year.
