Graduation Research B and Early Graduation Requirements

This page explains when Graduation Research B is required for graduation and for eligible early-graduation students in the 2025 academic year.

Future Science Faculty graduation requirement

For students in the Future Science Faculty at the Tokyo Senju Campus in the 2025 academic year, earning the credits for Graduation Research B is required for graduation.

System Design Engineering Faculty early graduation

Under the early-graduation requirements established by each department, a student in the System Design Engineering Faculty at the Tokyo Senju Campus must take Graduation Research A and Graduation Research B in the third year and earn both sets of credits if the student wishes to graduate early, has earned at least 85 credits by the end of the second year, and has a GPA of at least 3.4. Credits earned at another university or another faculty, and similar credits recognized by the faculty, are excluded from the 85-credit calculation.

Information Media Department early graduation

In the Information Media Department of the Future Science Faculty at the Tokyo Senju Campus, students eligible for three-and-a-half-year early graduation who conduct graduation research from the second semester of their third year must earn both Graduation Research A and Graduation Research B as graduation conditions. Students eligible for three-year early graduation who conduct graduation research from the first semester of their third year must also earn both courses as graduation conditions.
