Basic Calculus A Placement by Mathematics Test Score

For the 2025 academic year, mathematics placement test scores determine whether students are assigned to the standard or introductory Basic Calculus A class.

Class assignment based on the April placement test

For students in the School of Science and Technology at Saitama Hatoyama Campus in the 2025 academic year, the mathematics result from the placement test held in April determines the Basic Calculus A class assignment. Students scoring at or above the required score are assigned to Basic Calculus A (Standard), which meets once a week. Students scoring below the required score are assigned to Basic Calculus A (Introductory), which meets twice a week.
