Recognition of Specialized Education Credits After a Department or Faculty Transfer
This page explains how specialized education course credits are recognized after changing departments or faculties, including the applicable credit amount, course matching, year-level treatment, and grades.
Transfers covered by the 2026 rule
For transfers between departments within the Faculty of Engineering, the Faculty of Future Science, or the Faculty of System Design and Technology, specialized education courses are recognized by matching the courses and using the credit value of the destination department. The credits are recognized regardless of the year level to which the destination course is assigned. The grade is recorded as RS, RA, RB, or RC. However, the destination department may decide to record the grade as RN. The same course-matching and destination-credit rules apply when transferring from the Faculty of Engineering, Second Division to the Faculty of Engineering, the Faculty of Future Science, or the Faculty of System Design and Technology; the destination department may also assign RN.
Internal transfers within the Faculty of Engineering, Second Division in 2025
For students who changed departments within the Faculty of Engineering, Second Division, specialized education courses are recognized by matching the courses and using the credit value of the destination department. They are recognized regardless of the year level to which the destination course is assigned.
