Teaching Licence Course Requirements and Shaded Courses

This page explains why Calculus and Exercises II is required for the mathematics teaching licence and how shaded courses differ from ordinary course classifications.

Calculus and Exercises II

For the 2025 academic year at Tokyo Senju Campus, in both the Faculty of Future Science and the Faculty of Engineering, Calculus and Exercises II is listed as a 4-credit elective in the subject-specific content for the mathematics teaching licence. However, the course is shaded in the table, so it must be completed to obtain the teaching licence.

What shaded courses mean

For the 2025 academic year in the Faculty of Engineering at Tokyo Senju Campus, shaded courses in the subject-content table must be completed to obtain the teaching licence. This requirement is separate from the course classification used for progression and graduation requirements. Therefore, a course may be classified as elective in the table while still being required for the teaching licence if it is shaded.
