Credit Recognition for Liberal Arts Courses After Re-entry
For students re-entering within the same faculty group, this page explains how liberal arts course credits are recognized and graded.
How liberal arts credits are recognized after re-entry
When a student re-enters the same faculty group from the School of Engineering, School of Future Science, or School of System Design and Technology, the following liberal arts courses are recognized. In the Human Sciences category, courses in the Engineer Education and Global Education fields are recognized by course matching, while courses in other Human Sciences fields are recognized as a block. Mathematics, Information, and Natural Science and Technology courses in the Natural Sciences category, as well as Hands-on Workshop and English courses, are recognized by course matching. Recognition applies regardless of the course's designated year. Credits are recognized using the credit value of the re-entry destination. Grades are recorded as RS, RA, RB, or RC; however, the department at the re-entry destination may assign RN.
