Planning Organic Chemistry I in the Science Curriculum Track
This page explains when Organic Chemistry I is recommended in the Science Curriculum Track, including guidance for students taking Chemistry as a secondary course.
Recommended Chemistry Courses for 2026
For the 2026 academic year at the Saitama Hatoyama Campus in the Faculty of Science and Technology, students in the Science Curriculum Track are recommended to take Organic Chemistry I, Inorganic Chemistry I, and Instrumental Analysis as common Chemistry courses.
Secondary Chemistry Course and Recommended Study Timing in 2025
For the 2025 academic year, students in the Science Curriculum Track who take Chemistry as a secondary course are recommended to complete Organic Chemistry I, Inorganic and Analytical Chemistry, and Instrumental Analysis as common Chemistry courses. Courses covering major areas of chemistry, such as Organic Chemistry I, Inorganic and Analytical Chemistry, and Chemical Thermodynamics, should be studied in the lower years. Studying fields that form the foundations of physical chemistry, such as Quantum Mechanics I and Chemical Reaction Kinetics, is also advantageous when taking higher-year chemistry courses based on those subjects.
