Planning Your Chemistry Coursework
This guide explains which courses are recommended for a chemistry minor and which chemistry fundamentals should be studied in the early years.
Recommended courses for a chemistry minor
If you choose chemistry as a minor course, it is recommended that you take all three of the following shared study courses: Organic Chemistry I, Inorganic and Analytical Chemistry, and Instrumental Analysis.
Courses to study in the early years
Courses covering major areas of chemistry, including Organic Chemistry I, Inorganic and Analytical Chemistry, and Chemical Thermodynamics, should be studied in the early years. Taking or studying foundational physical chemistry subjects such as Quantum Mechanics I and Chemical Kinetics is also advantageous when you later take chemistry courses based on those subjects.
