Eligibility and Validity of Student Discount Certificates for JR Travel

JR travel eligibility

For the Faculty of Systems Design and Technology at Tokyo Senju Campus in academic year 2025, a Student Discount Certificate may be used on trains operated by JR companies when the trip is for a listed purpose, such as returning home, regular-course education, extracurricular activities, job-hunting activities, or a study visit, and the one-way boarding distance exceeds 100 km.

For the Faculty of Science and Technology at Saitama Hatoyama Campus in academic year 2026, the certificate may be used for long-distance travel on JR companies' trains for purposes including returning home, formal education, extracurricular activities, job hunting, and study visits when the one-way boarding section is at least 100 km.

For the Faculty of Systems Design and Technology at Tokyo Senju Campus in academic year 2026, the certificate may be used for JR travel for purposes such as returning home, regular-course education, extracurricular activities, job-hunting activities, and study visits when the one-way boarding section exceeds 100 km.

Certificate validity period

For the Faculty of Engineering, Division II at Tokyo Senju Campus in academic year 2025, a Student Discount Certificate is valid for three months from its date of issue.
