PE Qualification and Experience Requirements

The requirements differ slightly between the 2025 and 2026 academic years. Both versions include passing the FE exam and completing at least four years of relevant engineering work experience.

2025 academic year

For students at the Saitama Hatoyama Campus in the School of Science and Technology, the stated PE requirements are passing both the PE and FE examinations and having at least four years of practical experience in technical work related to engineering. Eligible work includes planning, research, design, analysis, testing, evaluation, or instruction related to these activities.

2026 academic year

For students at the Saitama Hatoyama Campus in the School of Science and Technology, eligibility to take the PE examination requires passing the FE examination and having at least four years of practical experience in technical work related to engineering. Examples of eligible work include planning, research, design, analysis, testing, evaluation, or instruction related to these activities.
