Path to Professional Engineer Certification While Enrolled
Students can take the First-Stage Professional Engineer Examination while enrolled. This page explains the route to registration as an Assistant Professional Engineer and the requirements for the Second-Stage Examination.
Examinations and the Route to Certification
There are no specific eligibility restrictions for the First-Stage Professional Engineer Examination, so you can take it while you are still enrolled. After passing the First-Stage Examination, you may apply to register as an Assistant Professional Engineer. To take the Second-Stage Examination, you must have either passed the First-Stage Examination or completed a JABEE-accredited programme, and you must also have practical work experience. The shortest required period of practical experience is four years.
