Advance Enrollment in Graduate Courses

This page explains who may enroll in graduate courses in advance, the examination-status requirements, application timing, graduate-school conditions, and course restrictions.

Eligibility for the 2025 Academic Year

At the Tokyo Senju Campus Faculty of Engineering, eligible students are fourth-year undergraduates and third-year undergraduates seeking early graduation, provided they meet the applicable admissions-status requirements. For advance enrollment in the first semester, you must be applying for the A-schedule internal recommendation entrance examination. For the second semester, you must be an A-schedule internal recommendation examination successful applicant, a B-schedule internal recommendation examination applicant, or an applicant to the first-semester general entrance examination.

Eligibility and Procedure for the 2026 Academic Year

At the Tokyo Senju Campus Faculty of System Design and Technology, eligible students are fourth-year undergraduates and third-year students seeking early graduation. The applicable entrance-examination status is also required: for the first semester, you must be applying for the internal recommendation examination; for the second semester, you must have passed or be applying for that examination, or be applying for the general examination. In addition to these requirements, you must satisfy the conditions set by the relevant graduate school. As a rule, courses in a major other than your intended graduate-school major are not permitted for advance enrollment. Students who wish to take graduate courses in advance must complete the procedure by the date specified in the announcement.

Approval May Depend on Applicant Numbers

Advance enrollment may not be permitted or approved depending on the number of applicants. This condition is stated for the 2026 academic year at the Tokyo Senju Campus Faculty of System Design and Technology and for the 2025 academic year at the Tokyo Senju Campus Faculty of Engineering.
