Faculty Transfer: Deadlines, Fees, Requirements, and Timing

Application deadlines

For the 2025 academic year at Tokyo Senju Campus, students in the Faculty of System Design and Technology or the Faculty of Engineering who wish to transfer faculties beginning in the next academic year must apply to the Student Support Center (Student Welfare) from October 1 through October 31. Students in the Faculty of Future Science at the same campus who wish to transfer from the next academic year must also notify the Student Support Center (Student Welfare) during October 1–31. For the 2026 academic year at Saitama Hatoyama Campus, students in the Faculty of Science and Technology who wish to transfer from the following academic year must make an application to the Student Welfare desk during October.

Screening fee

A separate screening fee of 5,000 yen is charged for faculty-transfer selection. This is stated for the Faculty of Engineering at Tokyo Senju Campus for the 2025 academic year and for the Faculty of System Design and Technology at the same campus for the 2026 academic year.

Courses required before applying

For the 2025 academic year, applicants in the Faculty of Engineering, Second Division, who seek admission to the Faculty of System Design and Technology, the Faculty of Science and Technology, or the Faculty of Engineering must have taken and passed the courses designated in advance by the receiving department.

Examination and transfer date

For the 2026 academic year in the Faculty of Engineering, Second Division, the faculty-transfer examination is planned for March, and the transfer takes effect on April 1.
