Credit and Grade Recognition After Re-enrollment
This page explains how previously completed courses are recognized, including credit amounts, course matching, comprehensive recognition, and grades after re-enrollment.
How courses, credits, and grades are recognized
For re-enrollment from the Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Future Science, or Faculty of System Design and Technology into one of these three faculties, the following rules apply. In general education, Human Sciences courses in the Engineering Liberal Arts and Global Liberal Arts fields are recognized by course matching, while courses in the other Human Sciences fields are recognized comprehensively. Mathematics, Information, Natural Science and Technology, hands-on workshop, and English courses are recognized by course matching. General education courses are recognized using the credit value of the destination programme, regardless of the year in which the courses are assigned. The grades recorded are RS, RA, RB, or RC; the destination department may instead assign RN. Specialized education courses are recognized by course matching. If no corresponding course can be identified, the destination department may recognize the course comprehensively. These courses are also recognized using the destination programme's credit value, regardless of the assigned year, and are recorded as RS, RA, RB, or RC, with RN also possible at the destination department's discretion.
