When to Return Your Student ID

Your student ID must be returned immediately in several situations, including withdrawal, expulsion, graduation, leaving student status, or receiving a replacement card.

Return your ID when your student status ends

Return your student ID immediately if you withdraw, are expelled, are removed from the university register, graduate, or otherwise leave student status. This requirement applies in the 2026 academic year to the Faculty of Engineering (Evening Division), the School of Science and Technology, and the Faculty of Engineering at Tokyo Senju Campus, and to the Faculty of Science and Technology at Saitama Hatoyama Campus.

Return your ID when it is replaced

Return your current student ID immediately when a newly issued student ID is provided. For the Faculty of Engineering (Evening Division) at Tokyo Senju Campus in the 2026 academic year, the printed instructions also state that loss of the card must be reported to the university immediately. The same immediate-return requirement upon replacement or departure from student status applies to the Faculty of Science and Technology at Saitama Hatoyama Campus in the 2025 academic year.
