Using Your Student ID at Campus Gates
Students at Tokyo Senju Campus must tap their student ID when passing through campus security gates. The procedure and the consequences of not tapping are outlined below.
Tap Your Card When Entering and Leaving
In the 2026 academic year, students in the Faculty of Future Science at Tokyo Senju Campus must tap their student ID when passing through security gates or entry/exit readers, both when entering and when leaving.
Why Tapping Is Required
For the 2025 academic year, failing to tap your student ID when passing through a gate means that accurate on-campus presence information is not recorded. In an emergency, your location on campus may therefore be impossible to confirm. Passing through a gate improperly without tapping can also cause an error and create congestion for students waiting behind you. The same effects of not tapping—loss of accurate presence information, inability to confirm your campus location in a disaster, errors, and congestion—are stated for the 2026 academic year.
