Doctoral Dissertation Publication and Access

This page explains when an approved summary may be published instead of a full doctoral dissertation, how publication is carried out online, and how the full dissertation can be inspected in that case.

Publication, approved summaries, and dissertation access

If there is an unavoidable reason, a doctoral degree recipient may publish a summary instead of the full dissertation, provided that the graduate-school committee approves it. When a summary is published under this approved exception, the graduate school must make the full dissertation available for inspection upon request. Publication under Article 10(1) or 10(2) is carried out using the internet with the cooperation of the university’s General Media Center.
