Qualification-Based Credit Recognition Rules
This page explains eligibility, course registration, recognition choices, and cancellation rules for credit recognition based on qualifications.
2026: Faculty of Science and Technology, Saitama Hatoyama Campus
TOEIC IP test results can be used for credit recognition only when the test was conducted on campus. A TOEIC IP test does not issue the Official Score Certificate used for the public test; instead, results are reported by a score report or score sheet. You do not need to register the applicable course when applying for qualification-based credit recognition. If you are already taking that course, cancel its course registration. A course for which you have already earned credit cannot be recognized again. If the same qualification is listed both for all academic units and for individual academic units, you may choose recognition under one category only.
2025: Saitama Hatoyama Campus
For qualification-based credit recognition, a TOEIC IP test is eligible only when it was conducted on campus. A course for which you have already earned credit cannot be recognized again. If the same qualification is listed both for all academic units and for individual academic units, you may choose one category of recognition, but not both. Once the R grade for a course has been applied for and recognized through this process, the recognition cannot be canceled.
2025: Robotics and Mechatronics, Faculty of Future Science
At Tokyo Senju Campus, if you are taking a course that is subject to qualification-based credit recognition, that course enrollment must be canceled as part of the recognition process.
