Transfer Eligibility and Placement from the Faculty of Engineering Second Division

This page explains the credit requirements for transferring to the Faculty of Engineering and the year in which transfer students may be placed.

Credit requirements for transfer

For the 2026 academic year at Tokyo Senju Campus, first-year students in the Faculty of Engineering Second Division may transfer to the second year of the Faculty of Engineering through selection if, based on their grades through the end of the first-year fall semester, they have earned at least 36 credits, including the subjects designated by their department. Second-year students may also transfer to the second year through selection if, based on their grades through the end of the second-year fall semester, they have earned at least 60 credits, including the subjects designated by their department.

Possible placement in the third year

For second-year students transferring from the Faculty of Engineering Second Division, placement in the third year may be possible. The placement year is determined based on the student's preference and the decision of the receiving department.
