Returning from Leave: Dates, Documents, and Procedures

This page explains the return dates for students coming back from leave, the medical document required after illness-related leave, and the consequences of not completing the return procedure.

Return dates by semester

For the 2026 academic year, the return date is generally the beginning of the semester. At Tokyo Senju Campus, the dates are April 1 for the first semester and September 5 for the second semester for students in the Faculty of Advanced Science and Technology and the Faculty of Engineering, Division II.

Document required after illness-related leave

For the 2026 academic year, students in the Faculty of Science and Technology at Saitama Hatoyama Campus who took leave because of illness must attach a doctor's medical certificate to the documents required to return from leave.

Completing the return procedure

For the 2026 academic year, at Tokyo Senju Campus in the Faculty of Advanced Science and Technology, failing to complete the return procedure may result in removal from the student register.
