How to Apply for a Teaching License

This page explains the teaching license application routes during enrollment and after graduation for students at Tokyo Senju Campus.

Application requirement and available routes

For the Faculty of Engineering in academic year 2026, obtaining a teaching license requires an application to the Board of Education. During enrollment, the university normally submits applications together on behalf of students, and students can receive their licenses at the same time as graduation. After graduation, students may also apply individually to the nearest Board of Education. For the Faculty of Future Science in academic year 2025, applying to the Board of Education is also required.

University batch application during enrollment

The university normally compiles and submits teaching license applications to the Board of Education as a batch application while students are enrolled. Under this route, students can receive their licenses at the same time as graduation. This process is supported for the following scopes: the Faculty of System Design and Engineering in academic year 2026; the Faculty of Future Science in academic year 2025 and academic year 2026; the Faculty of Engineering in academic year 2025; and the Second Division of the Faculty of Engineering in academic year 2026.

Individual application after graduation

After graduation, students may apply individually for a teaching license to the nearest Board of Education. This route is supported for the Faculty of Engineering in academic year 2025; the Faculty of Future Science in academic year 2025 and academic year 2026; and the Second Division of the Faculty of Engineering in academic year 2025 and academic year 2026.
