Applying for Special Radio Operator Licenses

This page explains where to apply for the First-Class Land Special Radio Operator and Third-Class Maritime Special Radio Operator licenses, the required certificates, and the coursework certification process.

Second Division of the Faculty of Engineering

For students in the Second Division of the Faculty of Engineering at Tokyo Senju Campus in the 2026 academic year, the coursework content for these licenses is certified to the Regional Telecommunications Bureau with jurisdiction over the applicant’s address. Applications are submitted to the nearest Regional Bureau of Telecommunications.

Faculty of Engineering

For the Electronic Systems Engineering Department and the Information and Communication Engineering Department of the Faculty of Engineering in the 2026 academic year, the relevant courses have been confirmed. Applicants can apply by submitting a certificate of graduation and a certificate of academic record and completed credits. Applications are submitted to the nearest Regional Bureau of Telecommunications.
