Make-Up Examination Eligibility and Application Procedures

This page explains who may apply for a make-up examination, which documents are required, and when and where to submit the application.

Eligibility and reasons for applying

For the 2025 academic year in the School of Future Science, you must meet the eligibility requirements for taking the regular academic examination and have a reason that qualifies for a make-up examination application. For the 2026 academic year in the Faculty of Engineering, Evening Division, make-up examinations may be held when a student misses a final written examination for an unavoidable reason, such as sudden illness. Submitting an application does not guarantee that a make-up examination will be held; the course instructor decides whether to provide one. A make-up examination will not be held for a student who misses the make-up examination itself, even for an unavoidable reason.

Qualifying reasons and supporting documents

For the 2026 academic year in the Faculty of Engineering, Evening Division, an application is limited to these four reasons, with supporting documentation attached: your illness or injury made it completely impossible for you to take the examination, supported by a doctor's certificate or the university's designated examination-results notice; the critical illness or death of a relative within the second degree, supported by relevant documentation; inability to come to campus because public transportation was suspended or for a similar reason, supported by a delay certificate; or another truly unavoidable circumstance beyond your responsibility, supported by a written explanation. The application requires a doctor's certificate or a written explanation and other supporting documents, as applicable.
