Planning for an Additional-Subject Teaching License
Guidance on prioritizing graduation requirements and understanding where credits for an additional-subject teaching license must be earned.
Plan the Additional License Around Your Graduation Requirements
An additional-subject teaching license is earned on top of the license available through your own department, so you may not be able to complete all of its requirements before graduation. Plan your studies so that pursuing the additional license does not interfere with your academic progress. Courses required for graduation and courses required for the teaching license available through your own department take priority over courses for the additional-subject license.
Credits for an Additional License in the Faculty of Engineering, Second Division
For the 2025 academic year at Tokyo Senju Campus in the Faculty of Engineering, Second Division, credits required for an additional-subject teaching license must be earned by taking courses through cross-faculty and cross-department enrollment. These courses must be offered by another faculty or department that has an accredited curriculum for the subject you wish to teach, and the courses themselves must be part of that accredited curriculum.
