Main and Sub-Course Selection and First-Year Study Planning

This guide explains when to select your main and sub-course and how to plan your first-year subjects and credits.

Selecting Your Main and Sub-Course

The curriculum uses a main-course and sub-course system. You select both your main course and sub-course at the end of your first year.

Planning Your First-Year Subjects and Credits

In your first year, you are advised to take subjects related not only to your first-choice course but also to other courses. Because few specialist subjects in the academic system are available in the first year, this approach helps you understand the field of information science as a whole and strengthen your academic foundations. As a first-year planning target, aim to take at least 40 credits, preferably 44 credits. These figures are targets, not stated progression or graduation requirements.
