Mechanical Engineering Degree Requirements and Graduate Qualities

For the 2025 academic year, this page explains the enrollment requirement for the Bachelor of Engineering degree and the knowledge, skills, and qualities expected of graduates in the Mechanical Engineering program.

Degree Award

The Mechanical Engineering program awards the Bachelor of Engineering degree to students who have been enrolled in the program for the required period and have acquired the abilities specified in the Faculty of Science and Technology's degree-awarding policy.

Knowledge, Skills, and Qualities Expected of Graduates

Graduates are expected to have broad foundational knowledge in science and engineering that enables them to contribute to the sustainable development of science, technology, and society. They should also acquire the specialized knowledge and skills required of mechanical engineering professionals; the ability to identify problems that need to be solved in mechanical engineering and apply practical problem-solving and communication skills; and the qualities needed to act as ethical science and technology professionals and well-rounded members of society.
