Subject Credits for the High School Information Teaching License

For the 2026 academic year at the Tokyo Senju Campus in the Faculty of Engineering, this page explains the required credits, mandatory courses, and permitted substitutions for the High School Type 1 Teaching License in Information.

Required credits and permitted substitutions

To obtain the High School Type 1 Teaching License in Information, you must earn at least 30 credits from the courses listed under the subject-specific professional requirements, including all shaded courses. The shaded courses are mandatory for obtaining the license, regardless of whether they are classified as required, elective, or free-choice courses for graduation.

Up to 5 of the required 30 credits may be replaced with credits from subjects independently designated by the university. The number of credits required from the subject-specific professional courses is therefore 30 minus the number of substituted credits. For example, if you earn 5 credits from university-designated subjects, you must earn at least 25 credits from the subject-specific professional courses. The shaded courses must still be included.
