Recognition and Grades for Common Education Credits After an Internal Transfer
For 2026 internal transfers at the Faculty of Engineering (Second Division), this page explains how Human Science and English courses are recognized and graded after a faculty or department transfer.
How Common Education Credits Are Recognized
For students transferring from the Faculty of Engineering, the Faculty of Future Science, or the Faculty of System Design Engineering to the Faculty of Engineering (Second Division), Common Education courses in Human Science and English are recognized through course correspondence. The credits are recognized according to the number of credits assigned by the destination programme. For students transferring between departments within the Faculty of Engineering (Second Division), these courses are also recognized through course correspondence, using the number of credits assigned by the destination department.
How the Recognized Courses Are Graded
For transfers from the Faculty of Engineering, the Faculty of Future Science, or the Faculty of System Design Engineering to the Faculty of Engineering (Second Division), Human Science and English courses are recognized regardless of the courses' designated academic year. Their grades are recorded as RS, RA, RB, or RC. The destination department may instead assign RN. For transfers between departments within the Faculty of Engineering (Second Division), these courses are also recognized regardless of their designated academic year, and their grades are recorded as S, A, B, or C. The destination department may instead assign RN.
