Disciplinary Rules and Possible Actions

For the 2025 academic year, this page explains the grounds for disciplinary action, who imposes it, and the types of penalties that may apply at the Saitama Hatoyama Campus School of Science and Technology.

When disciplinary action may be imposed

A student who violates the university's rules or regulations, or whose conduct conflicts with the responsibilities expected of a student, may be disciplined. The disciplinary decision is made by the president after deliberation by the faculty meeting.

Types of disciplinary action

Depending on the circumstances, disciplinary action may take the form of expulsion, suspension, or a reprimand.

When expulsion may be imposed

Expulsion may be imposed on a student whose conduct is seriously improper and is not expected to improve, or who disrupts university order or seriously violates the responsibilities expected of a student.
