Freely Selected Acquired Courses: Credit Requirement and Eligible Credits

For international students, this page explains the required number of freely selected acquired credits and which credits can be included.

Required Credits and What Counts

The freely selected acquired courses category requires 4 credits for international students in both the FA and FI/FR divisions. The following credits count toward this category: credits earned beyond the required graduation credits in each Liberal Arts Education or Specialized Education category; credits earned by taking courses in another faculty or department, excluding free courses; credits earned through the Tokyo Science and Engineering Universities student exchange credit-transfer course system; and credits from international-student courses other than Japanese Affairs A and Japanese Affairs B.
