For the 2026 academic year, these grade standards explain score ranges, whether credits are earned, and what each grade indicates about achievement of course objectives.
Passing and Failing Grade Standards
For the Faculty of Engineering at Tokyo Senju Campus in the 2026 academic year:
- Grade A: 80–89 points. This is a passing grade with credits earned. It indicates achievement of the course objectives at a level that permits progression to more advanced content. - Grade B: 70–79 points. This is a passing grade with credits earned. It indicates achievement of the course objectives with partial ability to apply the learning. Self-study is desirable before proceeding to more advanced content. - Grade C: 60–69 points. This is a passing grade with credits earned. It indicates attainment of the minimum level of the course objectives. Substantial self-study is needed to apply the acquired knowledge and skills and proceed to more advanced content. - Grade D: 0–59 points. This is a failing grade, and credits are not earned. It means that the course objectives have not been met.
For grades RS, RA, RB, and RC, the evaluation standards correspond respectively to the standards for S, A, B, and C.
