Requirements for Promotion to the Next Academic Year

For the 2026 academic year, students at the Tokyo Senju Campus in the Faculty of Engineering, Second Division must meet enrollment, payment, and any applicable individual requirements for promotion.

General promotion requirements

In principle, promotion to the next academic year requires all of the following: you must have been enrolled for a combined total of at least 12 months in the same academic year, excluding any period of leave of absence; you must have paid the required tuition and other fees; and you must satisfy any individual conditions that apply to promotion to the next academic year, as specified in Sections 6-1, 6-2, and 6-3.

First-year promotion and students on leave

There is no grade-based promotion requirement for promotion from the first year to the second year. However, the applicable enrollment-status and tuition conditions must still be met. A student who is on a leave of absence when promotion is assessed in March may still be promoted if the required tuition and other fees have been paid, the student has been enrolled for a combined total of at least 12 months in the same academic year excluding the leave period, and the individual conditions for promotion to the next academic year have been satisfied.
