Weather Warnings and Class Suspensions
This page explains which weather warnings affect classes and how class decisions are made at 6:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m.
Warnings Covered by the Rule
The rule applies when a storm warning, snowstorm warning, or heavy snow warning is issued in Saitama Prefecture, excluding the Chichibu area.
Class Decisions at 6:00 a.m.
If a qualifying warning is in effect at 6:00 a.m., classes in Periods 1 and 2 are canceled. If no qualifying warning is in effect at 6:00 a.m., classes are held as usual.
Class Decisions at 9:00 a.m.
If a qualifying warning is in effect at 9:00 a.m., the campus is closed for the entire day. Classes from Period 1 through Period 5, including the D5 period, are canceled. If no qualifying warning is in effect at 9:00 a.m., classes from Period 3 onward are held as usual. This includes cases where a warning was issued after 6:00 a.m. but remains in effect at 9:00 a.m.
