Semester Credit Limits and Eligibility for Exceeding Them

This page explains which courses are excluded from the semester credit limit and when students may be eligible to register for credits above the limit.

Eligibility to Register Above the Semester Limit

In the 2026 academic year at Tokyo Senju Campus, students in the Faculty of Engineering, Second Division, and students in the Faculty of Engineering may register for credits above the stated semester limit if they have earned the prescribed credits with excellent grades. For students in the Faculty of System Design Engineering in the 2025 academic year, students with the prescribed credits and superior academic results may register for courses above the stated semester limit. The method for registering above the limit is prescribed separately for the Faculty of System Design Engineering.

Courses Excluded from the Semester Credit Limit

In the 2026 academic year at Tokyo Senju Campus, free courses and intensive lecture courses are not included in the limit on the number of courses that may be taken in a semester by students in the Faculty of Engineering, Second Division.
