Study abroad normally lasts one year, with a short-term exception for one eligible faculty scope.

Standard and Short-Term Study Abroad Periods

For the Faculty of Engineering at Tokyo Senju Campus in academic year 2026, the study-abroad period is ordinarily one year. For the Faculty of System Design and Technology at Tokyo Senju Campus in academic year 2025, the period is normally one year; however, short-term study at a university or similar institution recognized by the university may exceptionally be approved for less than one year. For the Faculty of Engineering, Division II, at Tokyo Senju Campus in academic year 2025, the study-abroad period is normally one year.
