Teacher Licence Credit Requirements

For the 2026 academic year at the Saitama Hatoyama Campus in the Faculty of Science and Technology, this page explains the credit requirements for a teacher licence and how they differ from graduation requirements.

Credits required for a teacher licence

To obtain a teacher licence, you must earn the prescribed credits for the type of licence you are seeking. The table requires you to meet the statutory minimum in each applicable category and earn a total of at least 59 credits within the heavy-bordered total.

Teacher licence requirements are separate from graduation requirements

In the table, “Required” means that the subject is required for the teacher licence being sought. It does not mean that the subject is required for graduation.
