Recognition of Previous Credits for a Teaching Licence

For the 2025 academic year, previously earned credits may count toward a teaching licence, but recognition and any applicable limit depend on the individual case and the previous institution’s approved teacher-training status.

How Previous Credits Are Treated

Credits earned at a previous institution, including credits connected with transfer admission, may be counted toward the credits required to obtain a teaching licence. Whether particular credits can be counted must be confirmed for the individual case. Under applicable laws, a limit may apply to the number of previously earned credits that can be recognized. This limit depends on whether the previous institution had an officially approved teacher-training course.
