Practical Experience Requirements for Boiler and Turbine Chief Engineer Qualifications

This page lists the required years of practical experience for each qualification category.

Required Practical Experience by Qualification Category

For NM categories, the required practical experience is 6 years for First Class (1), 6 years for First Class (2), 3 years for First Class (3), 3 years for Second Class (4), and 3 years for Second Class (5). For categories other than NM, the requirement is 10 years for First Class (1), 6 years for First Class (2), 3 years for First Class (3), and 5 years for Second Class (4).
