Teaching Licence Credit Requirements

For the 2026 academic year at the Tokyo Senju Campus, at least 30 credits are required, including the designated shaded courses. Up to 5 credits may be substituted with credits from university-designated courses.

Total Credits Required

You must earn at least 30 credits from the listed courses, and the total must include the designated shaded courses.

Permitted Substitutions

Of the 30-credit total, up to 5 credits may be earned through university-designated courses instead of subject-specific courses. The required number of subject-specific course credits is therefore 30 minus the number of credits earned through university-designated courses. For example, in the Faculty of Engineering, earning 5 credits through university-designated courses means that you must earn at least 25 credits in subject-specific courses.
